Out and About in the Digiworld - A Short Jaunt

Out and About in the Cato household we've been celebrating Barron's birthday. I did manage to grab a bit of time to roam the halls of digiland. Here's a slightly abbreviated Out and About ...

First off, there is a new digital scrapbooking community on the rise at Digiscrap Addicts. The site just took off this week, but everything is in place to have a thriving community, tutorials, product and layout galleries and, of course, freebies.

Janet has posted a really nice explanation and visual examples of the 'Rule of Thirds' in action at The Daily Digi. If you find it helpful, it is worth checking out all of her School of Scrapping (SOS) posts.

The March Songbird Avenue kit, Bunny Love, features guest designer Holliewood Studios. Proceeds benefit the Make a Wish Foundation.

It's always sad to see designers hanging up their hats. I wish all the best to the following gals. Be sure to stop by their shops to pick up your favorite items at reduced prices before they are gone for good.

Tracy Sims - 60% off her shop at ScrapbookGraphics through April 4th
Jule Designs - 50% off her shop at The DigiChick (discount should show up at checkout)

There is a tons of felt elements on the market, but usually just variations of hearts, circles, stars and flowers. Check out these darling and detailed Rise and Shine felt elements from Pamela Donnis at TDC.

Designers looking to stretch themselves through competition and earn a spot in a shop can check out the Capture the Flag contest at Funky Playground Designs.

I've been admiring Meredith Fenwick's Shape Up letters for awhile, but not sure that I'd be able to effectively put them to use. Then today I came across Me by meems in the MSA gallery. I really like how to she used a bold, whimsical approach to give the block templates a funky look.
